Magnesium (Mg #12) is the next element on the periodic table for my APEX mineral collection.

Magnesium Minerals -
There are many Magnesium minerals.
Brucite (Mg(OH)2) contains 42% Magnesium and is the best APEX mineral.
Magnesium is very common on Earth and makes up 13% of Earths mass. China supplies 80% of world refined Magnesium.
In 1618, a farmer at Epsom in England attempted to give his cows water from a well there. The cows refused to drink because of the water's bitter taste, but the farmer noticed that the water seemed to heal scratches and rashes. The substance became known as Epsom salts and its fame spread.
Magnesium is mainly used as an alloying agent to make metals lighter and stronger.  Milk of magnesia [a suspension of magnesium hydroxide]  is used as an antacid and laxative.
Magnesium is essential to all living organisms.  It is critical to the function of hundreds of enzymes and energy processes.
Magnesium is the metallic ion at the center of chlorophyll and thus the primary basis for an Oxygen rich atmosphere on Earth.
