Krypton is another Noble gas.  That means it won't react with anything and can't create minerals.

Krypton is common in the universe and the reasons are not known.  It is not common on Earth.

Krypton wasn't discovered until about 1900.

Krypton is mostly used in specialty lamps.  It is considerably more expensive than helium, since air is its only source.

Krypton has no essential function in mammals.
